The Inn at Boatworks

The Inn at Boatworks sits at 790 North Lake Boulevard, beside the Boatworks retail village at the east end of downtown. The Boatworks site puts it at thirty-four rooms. The fenced Grove Street dog park is roughly two hundred yards behind the property, a couple of minutes on foot.

The published dog policy runs four sentences. “We welcome our guests to bring along their dog to enjoy the adventure in Tahoe. A pet fee of $75 per stay will be added to each reservation with a dog.” One flat charge per visit, not per night. The mechanics depend on how the room was booked: direct online reservations can add the fee at booking, while reservations made through Expedia, Booking.com, or Hotel Tonight have it added at check-in.

Everything else is unpublished. The page names no size or breed limit and no cap on how many dogs. It doesn’t say whether pet-eligible rooms are designated, or whether a dog can be left alone in one. It doesn’t mention water bowls one way or the other. No leash rule appears either, so Placer County’s leash law applies on the grounds. Third-party booking directories list specifics the inn has never posted itself, and the phone number above is the only place those get settled.

The lake is across the boulevard. Commons Beach, a few blocks west, allows no dogs at all, with one exception: leashed dogs passing on the paved multi-use trail above the sand. That trail is TCPUD’s, it runs along North Lake Boulevard past the inn, and it continues east toward Dollar Point. The district’s rule across the whole 23-mile network is to keep dogs on a short leash.

The amenities page lists complimentary cruiser bikes and paddleboards in summer, snow shoes and sleds in winter, and a free downtown shuttle to restaurants and ski resorts. Rooms have microwaves and mini fridges. Several are theme rooms with heart-shaped tubs, which the rooms page calls a throwback to “our roots as the Fantasy Inn.”
