Tahoe Tap Haus

Tahoe Tap Haus sits in the Cobblestone Center on North Lake Boulevard, directly across from Commons Beach. Dogs aren’t allowed on the beach itself. The paved lakefront trail running past it does take leashed dogs, and the Tap Haus patio is a crosswalk away from the trail.

The restaurant’s website says it plainly: “Our patio is dog friendly!” There are two outdoor spaces. The front patio faces the boulevard, with street noise and foot traffic a few feet away. The side patio sits off the main drag and runs quieter. The site doesn’t mention leash rules or water bowls one way or the other; Placer County’s leash law applies everywhere in town regardless.

The menu is pub fare — burgers, sandwiches, salads. Sixteen rotating taps lean local and West Coast. Hours run 11:30am to 9pm most weekdays, later on weekends. The Truckee River Trail trailhead at 64-Acres Park is about five minutes away by car, or a walk along the river.

Parking is in the Cobblestone Center area, and it gets tight midday in July and August. The patios are the only dog-eligible seating, so on snow-dumping midwinter days take-out is what’s left. And when both patios fill on a summer weekend, the same take-out counter runs, with plenty of places to sit along the lakefront trail across the street.
