Fireside Pizza sits in unit 25 of The Village at Palisades Tahoe, at the edge of the main plaza, nine miles up Olympic Valley Road from Tahoe City. The restaurant publishes no dog policy. Not on its website, not in its FAQ, which covers reservations and waitlist mechanics and stops there, and not on its Facebook page, which posts about live music on the patio without ever naming a dog. This listing rests on visitor reports.
Two of them, independent of each other. A dog-travel directory’s 2022 write-up says a dog can go onto the patio without any fuss. A TripAdvisor reviewer in June 2021 wrote that dogs are allowed on the patio. Both describe the front courtyard rather than the dining room. Neither is the restaurant speaking.
What is official is the ground the courtyard sits on. Palisades Tahoe’s pets page states that leashed dogs are permitted in The Village and its parking lots year-round, and waste bag stations are placed throughout. That rule governs the plaza a few feet from the tables. It says nothing about the restaurant’s own seating, and the one patio-dining sentence on that page belongs to PlumpJack Inn, not to Village tenants.
Conditions out front: the courtyard faces the plaza, reviews describe picnic-table seating under umbrellas, and the foot traffic is skiers in winter and hikers in summer crossing the Village. There’s an outdoor fire pit. No reservations. The FAQ describes a first-come, first-served text waitlist, and during the busy stretches waits can run past an hour and a half; that waiting happens outdoors or in the plaza.
Water bowls aren’t published one way or the other. No fee, size limit, or leash rule appears in anything the restaurant has written, because the restaurant has written nothing. The Placer County leash ordinance and the Village rule both apply to the ground outside.
Cushing Pond, where dogs can swim, is behind KT Base Bar in the same Village. On the Tahoe City side, the Bristlecone section of Lake Forest Beach is the nearest lake swim that allows dogs.
