Basecamp Tahoe City sits on North Lake Boulevard at the north end of town, within walking distance of the shops and the lakefront and a short drive from the Truckee River Trail trailhead at 64-Acres Park.
The pet policy comes from the hotel’s own FAQ, which opens with “Furry friends are our favorite!” Dogs stay in select rooms (not every room qualifies; pet-eligible rooms are requested at booking) and are allowed throughout the common areas, leashed and under control. That includes the fire pit. The fee is $40 plus tax, charged once per visit rather than per night, and on a multi-night stay that flat structure runs cheaper than most per-night pet pricing around the lake.
One line in the policy carries the most weight: pets may not be left alone in the room at any point during a stay. That rule interacts with the rest of town in a specific way. The paved lakefront trail takes leashed dogs. The Tahoe Tap Haus patio, a short walk down North Lake Boulevard, does too, and Skylandia Park’s woodland trails are a few minutes east. Restaurants without patios are the gap — the no-alone rule doesn’t pause for dinner.
The FAQ doesn’t mention water bowls one way or the other.
