NoDa Bark & Board is a day care and boarding facility, so the dog question isn’t whether dogs are allowed. It’s whether a given dog clears intake. The onboarding page lists four required vaccinations: rabies, DHLPP/DLPP/DHPP, canine influenza, and bordetella, which the site spells “Bordatella.” Every dog must be spayed or neutered. The business ties that to a North Carolina Department of Agriculture rule it dates to September 2022. And puppies under six months are not accepted, a change the page marks as recent: “We can no longer accept puppies under 6 months.”

No breed list. No weight cap. Nothing published about a temperament evaluation or a trial day before the first full booking, and nothing about how vaccination records get to the front desk.

The schedule has a hole in the middle of it. Weekdays run 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., but the building closes daily from 11 to 3 for nap time. Saturdays and Sundays are boarding drop-off and pick-up only, no day care: 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Day care is $38 for the first dog, $30 for each additional, with passes down to $32 a day at ten and an unlimited monthly at $475. Overnight boarding is $55, $40 for a second dog. CMS teachers and first responders get a discount with ID. Play runs in groups sorted by age, size, and temperament, indoor and outdoor, morning and afternoon, with a two-hour rest in between. Staff administer medications. Boarding dogs get a cot rather than the floor, bowls, and an evening relief walk.

The address puts it on the 2000 block of North Davidson, at the Optimist Park end of the street rather than the Davidson-and-36th blocks a mile north. Birdsong Brewing is about a mile the other direction on the same street.
