Le Méridien Charlotte publishes its pet terms as numbers rather than sentiment. Fifty dollars per room, per night, non-refundable. Capped at $150 for the whole stay. Two pets maximum, 80 pounds maximum each.

The cap is the part worth doing arithmetic on. Three nights hits $150 and the fee stops there. A week costs the same as those three nights.

The hotel sits at 555 South McDowell Street, on the eastern edge of Uptown where McDowell runs into the Interstate 277 loop. The address carries a tower designation, North Tower, because two hotels share the building. The Charlotte Convention Center is two blocks west, which sets the rhythm of the lobby: quiet weeks, then a few days where check-in lines run out toward the doors.

What the published policy covers is the fee, the weight cap, and the count. Leash rules for hallways and elevators, water bowls, a dedicated patch of grass for relief, breed restrictions beyond the weight limit — none of that appears in the terms the property publishes. Mecklenburg County’s animal ordinance, Sec. 3-71, requires physical restraint anywhere off your own property, so the sidewalks outside the doors are leashed ground no matter what the hotel says about its interior.

Walking options within a few minutes are limited to sidewalk. The blocks immediately around the property are convention-center apron and interstate shoulder, and shade is scarce on the McDowell side. Little Sugar Creek Greenway picks up under half a mile southeast, along Kings Drive, with leashed dogs allowed on the paved path.

Following that greenway south for roughly two and a half miles reaches Freedom Park, where dogs are allowed on leash across the grounds.
