Hollywood Feed publishes the policy in the company’s own words: “Customers are encouraged to bring leashed dogs in the store, giving employees a chance to engage and develop a friendship with both the animal and the customer.” Dogs go inside, on the sales floor.

One thing about where that sentence lives. It sits on Hollywood Feed’s corporate introduction site, written in first person by the company, on a page aimed at landlords and property managers rather than shoppers. It’s chain-wide. No Charlotte location page repeats it, and neither does this store’s Facebook page.

Which store this is matters, because Charlotte has six. The company calls this one Dilworth, on its own participating-locations list and in the name of the Facebook page it runs for the address.

The self-wash is here. Dilworth appears under self wash on the chain’s grooming page, $15.99, no appointment. Shampoo, conditioner, towels, grooming brushes, and blow dryers are provided, and staff handle the hair and dirt left behind. The tubs, per the company, “feature doors, stairs, or ramps” — the thing a visitor can confirm within a minute of walking to the back. Wash stations close half an hour before the store does. Frequent Feeder counts washes, twelve for a free thirteenth.

Grooming isn’t at this location. Of the Charlotte stores, only Toringdon on Copper Way is marked for on-staff groomers.

Park Road runs south from uptown through Dilworth here. Freedom Park is under a mile southeast, with the Little Sugar Creek Greenway running through it. 300 East is about a mile north on East Boulevard.
