Charlotte Suites

Charlotte Suites sits at 3425 Mulberry Church Road, about three miles from Charlotte Douglas by the hotel’s own reckoning. The name on the booking site may not be the name on the building. Most third-party listings still file it as Comfort Suites Airport, the Choice brand it carried for years; Choice’s Charlotte list no longer includes the address, and the property now runs as an independent distributed through IHG.

The dog policy is published in full, which is rare for a hotel this size: “Dogs only. 50 lbs per pet, max two pets in room 1 to 6 night stay USD75.00 plus tax, nonrefundable 7 to 30 night stay USD150.00 plus tax, nonrefundable. Pet must be in crate or carrier while guest is out of the room. Guests responsible for any damage.”

Three things in that paragraph do real work. Dogs only, so cats are out. Fifty pounds is a hard number, not a guideline. And the crate line is the one that shapes a stay: a dog left alone in the room has to be in a crate or carrier, and the hotel doesn’t supply one.

Check-in is 3 p.m., check-out 11 a.m., minimum check-in age 21. Breakfast is free with the room, 6 to 10 a.m. Self-parking runs $9.50 a night, paid through a third-party app or website rather than at the desk, with in-and-out privileges. The property is smoke-free. Its own page contradicts itself on the airport shuttle, answering “Yes, Charlotte Suites offers a complimentary airport shuttle” in one place and “Shuttle not available” for CLT in another.

Mulberry Church Road is a two-lane tertiary road with sidewalks along parts of its half-mile run and streetlights the length of it. Where dogs are meant to relieve themselves on the property isn’t published anywhere, and neither is a leash rule. County leash law applies.
