Brewers At 4001 Yancey

Brewers at 4001 Yancey sits on Yancey Road in Lower South End, in the low warehouse belt southwest of the light rail. The brewery answers the dog question on its own FAQ page, and the answer starts with a no before it gets to the yes: “While dogs are not allowed indoors, we have a beer garden, a covered patio, and a partially enclosed patio for our fur friends. Even better, we have an enclosed dog run for our beer buddies to play!”

Indoors is out. That part is written down rather than left to inference, which is unusual enough to be worth noting flatly.

What’s left is a lot. Three outdoor rooms, not one row of sidewalk tables. The beer garden is the one you’ll spot from the lot: blue shade sails strung overhead, twinkle lighting, and a bocce court fenced in wrought iron. One patio is covered, which handles rain and the four o’clock sun. A third is partially enclosed. The dog run is fenced and separate from the seating.

Leashes and water bowls aren’t published — not on the FAQ, not anywhere else on the site. County leash law is the operative rule on the patios.

Thirty-five to forty taps run at once, drawn from Victory, Sixpoint, Southern Tier, and Bold Rock, alongside beers brewed on site under the CLT Brew’d name. The current tap list lives on Untappd rather than on the brewery’s own pages, so what’s actually pouring today isn’t something the site will tell you.

The kitchen is a real one, running wings and pizzas and steak frites, and the FAQ says outside food isn’t permitted. All ages are welcome in the building. Hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
