Angry Ale’s sits at 1518 Montford Drive, mid-block on the short strip of bars and restaurants running off Park Road in Madison Park. It has been open since 2001, according to its own Instagram bio, which lists hours of 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. and not much else.

That bio doesn’t mention dogs. Neither does anything else the bar publishes that could be read here: angryales.com returns a 403 to automated readers, so its menu and about pages stayed closed to this review. There is no official dog policy behind this listing. What’s behind it is visitor reports.

Three of them, from unrelated sources, land on the same fact: dogs on the patio. A Tripadvisor reviewer visiting from Atlanta wrote about searching for pet-friendly restaurants and then sitting “outside on the patio of course.” Two pet-industry roundups, one from Pet Palace and one from Wag Bar, both describe the outdoor patio as open to dogs. None of the three describes dogs indoors.

Patio is what this page claims, then, and nothing past it. Leash rules, water bowls, size limits, a pet fee: not published, and not reported consistently enough to state. Mecklenburg County’s animal ordinance, Sec. 3-71, requires physical restraint anywhere off your own property, so county law governs the patio regardless of what the business posts. The North Carolina food code provision that makes patio dining with a dog legal in the first place, 15A NCAC 18A .2656, permits it in outdoor dining areas as long as the animal is physically restrained and doesn’t pass through any indoor part of the establishment. There’s a working kitchen here, so that provision applies.

The same two roundups describe a dog menu, down to a burger patty, bacon by the slice, and whipped cream in a cup. That’s second-hand. It isn’t in this page’s frontmatter and the bar hasn’t confirmed it anywhere readable.
